October 2025

We welcome Debbie Dragge & Adriana Lamas Bancalari in the lab.

Debbie has joined as murine Embryiologist, and she will be working on understanding the long-term implications of undergoing diapause. Really happy that she decided to join the team, her expertise will be extremely valuable to the lab!

Adriana has started as a CTP PhD Studentship in collaboration with bit.bio. Her project is entitled “Defining the rate limiting steps of differentiation tempo through deterministic forward programming“. Excited about the new discoveries that will come out of her project.

1st Preprint from the lab together with Briscoe Lab! Collaborative effort led by Shota Nakanoh & Despina Stamataki, with contributions from Lorena Garcia-Perez, Chiara Azzi, Alex Pokhilko, and help from proteomics (Crick & BI) + bioinformatic teams https://t.co/vCSS73OsuZ

13.05.2024

We welcome Max Perrin in the lab. Max will become a PhD student in the lab from October 2024, but he has joined us earlier to become familiar with the lab’s projects and to skill up his lab techniques. Very excited to have Max joining the lab!

We welcome Loukik Doshi in the lab. Loukik joins as a Research Assistant. He will spend 70% of the time in research and 30% of the time helping with lab management. Loukik will develop the BBSRC Pioneer project, and become the point of contact for our usual techniques. We couldn’t be more excited about his prospects in the lab!

09.11.2023

We are awarded a BBSRC Pioneer Award alongside Ian McGough, Maria Christophoru, and Jon Houseley. The Institute and The Cambridge Independent celebrate and share our sucess!

09.10.2023

We welcome Josephine Blagrove in the lab. Jo will perform a 10-week rotation in the lab as part of her BBSRC PhD studentship. She will try to implement micropatterning for our motor neuron differentiation protocols to better control cell numbers and starting conditions, which will allow us to monitor tempo more accurately.

17.08.2023

We say goodbye to Abdul Mukhar, a summer student in the lab. Abdul prepared a great final presentation of his stay in the lab. In his project, him and Eleonore overcome a number of failures and they managed to find the solutions by the end of the placement. Best of luck in what comes next to you!
